Quality Garage Doors
Since 1946
In 1946 Forest established and opened their doors. William Forest began his business in his garage, selling hardware for one-piece garage doors. A year later he was joined by his son, William Forest, Jr., who has returned from his service in the Army. It was under this father and son team that Forest opened the doors of its present location.
In 1953, William Sr.’s son-in-law, William Kneller, came on board. At one time or another all three of his sons helped out in the office or warehouse. His son, John Kneller, began working at Forest full-time in 1975. In 1983 a fire destroyed the warehouse and showroom at which point John took control of the business and decided to rebuild at the same location.
John’s father, Bill, continued to come into the office until just before his passing in 2004. John is still the owner of Forest Door — and his three children have also worked at Forest in one capacity or another over the years. Today John is joined by his daughter Jill who operates the business. John and Jill, with a handful of excellent (many long term) employees, carry on Forest Door’s reputation for quality and excellent customer service.

Below are some of the finest in the garage door business and we are proud they are part of our family business.

President (4th Generation)
As the fourth-generation president of Forest Door, I lead our team with a commitment to integrity, quality, and genuine care for the people we serve. I’m deeply involved in every part of the business; from customer experience to operations, team development, and long-term strategy, and I take pride in upholding the values that have guided Forest Door for nearly 80 years.
I’m also a certified holistic life coach and personal trainer, passionate about empowering others to live well and live true. Outside of work, you’ll find me lifting weights, exploring nature, spending time with my kids, or diving into anything that fuels growth, creativity, and well-being.

3rd Generation
After 50 years at Forest Door, John has officially hung up his hat...though we all know he still can’t resist stopping by the office to check in, tell a story, or make sure we’re “doing it right.” As the third generation to run Forest, his fingerprints are on every part of the company, and his legacy is the reason we’re here today. In retirement, John plans to do what he loves most: travel, spend long days fishing on his boat, and finally enjoy the slower pace he’s earned. Just don’t be surprised if you still see him wandering through the warehouse… old habits die hard.

Boss Dog
Louie runs Forest Door… or at least he thinks he does. When he isn’t announcing the arrival of each customer, he’s patiently plotting his next culinary heist. One moment of human distraction is all he needs to swipe a slice of cake, a tamale, or whatever happens to be left unattended on a desk. He’s a spoiled mascot with a fan club for a reason; Louie has every one of us wrapped around his paw. Whether he’s patrolling the showroom, demanding rubs, or supervising operations from his bed, he brings joy, chaos, and comic relief to the Forest Door family.

Customer Service
I’m part of the front office team here at Forest Door, where I handle purchasing and help keep track of orders so our clients receive exactly what they’re looking for. I also support our walk-in customers and assist wherever I’m needed to keep things moving smoothly.I started in the warehouse, managing orders and deliveries, and over time I’ve learned the inner workings of the office. My goal is to continue growing in purchasing and eventually expand into sales.
One thing I love about my work—aside from being part of a genuinely fun and supportive team—is meeting and interacting with clients. Every conversation teaches me something new about the industry, and I value that kind of hands-on learning. When I’m not at Forest Door, you can usually find me spending time with my daughter, lifting at the gym, or throwing punches at a heavy bag.
The Forest Door Way is built on kindness, teamwork, and integrity. These values guide me every day—at work and in life.

With more than 25 years at Forest Door, I’ve grown from a warehouse associate to managing the entire warehouse operation. I take real pride in keeping our space organized, safe, and running smoothly, and I value the teamwork it takes to make that happen every single day.
When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me with my grandkids, watching a good movie, playing cards or shooting pool, or relaxing around a bonfire.

I enjoy solving problems and making meaningful connections with customers. There’s nothing better than knowing I helped someone get their garage door working smoothly again. The most satisfying part is seeing their reaction when they notice how much quieter the door is after I’ve serviced it, swapped out the rollers, and lubricated all the parts. When I am not working you will find me spending time at home cooking and watching TV.

I’m part of Forest’s customer service team, and chances are you’ll hear my voice when you call for service, or when you’re exploring options for a custom new door. With more than 20 years of experience, I’m confident I can help you make an informed, comfortable decision. “Happy to help” is truly my motto, and this role gives me plenty of opportunities to make someone’s day a little easier.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me at home, my happy place, relaxing, crafting, or tending to my garden.

Installer
I’m an installer here at Forest Door. I’ve done plenty of service work over the years, but installing is what I enjoy most. I like starting a job fresh, doing it right, and seeing the finished product. When I’m not putting in doors, I’m usually doing body work on work on cars. I love making something rough look brand new again. I take pride in what I do, whether it’s a door or a car in pieces in my garage.

Customer Service
I’ve been working in the garage door industry for more than 30 years, across residential, commercial, and industrial applications. After decades in the field, one of the things I enjoy is training others; especially the people who genuinely want to learn the trade and do it the right way. I won’t train just anyone, which is why Forest’s values and our team are such a perfect fit.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to Mexico, watching football with my boys, and getting out on the golf course whenever I can.
